A Liebster Award is an award for bloggers, a way to say, "Hey, I like your blog!" It’s a bit like a chain letter, I answer 11 questions and then nominate more bloggers with less than 500 followers to answer my 11 questions, here goes!
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT BLOGGING?
If I'm honest it's the creativity. Whether putting my thoughts on paper, creating a collage on PicMonkey or attempting to design a logo Blogging has given me back the creativity I missed in my life.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE THRIFTY TIP?
Hmmm. Buy less coffee?? Actually I always tend to shop around and search for the best deal, sometimes this is time consuming but you can save a huge amount by searching the internet.
WHAT DO YOU DO TO RELAX?
Blog! Or Read :) (My husband is killing himself laughing at this question - "relax" is no more in my vocabulary than "Yoga"!)
WHAT DID YOU WANT TO DO OR BE WHEN YOU WERE GROWING UP?
A teacher. And most of all a Mummy. I am very fortunate as I managed both!
WHERE DO YOU TAKE YOUR INSPIRATION FROM WHEN YOU WRITE?
From my family and other animals :) , and anything I read really.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE SONG OR PIECE OF MUSIC AND WHY?
Oh I have lots. And so many different types:) Last year's Tour de France theme by Tom O'Dell is a current favourite. I like many genres, including songs from the Shows and choral music (LOVE music by Herbert Howells and Balfour-Gardiner) which brings back many happy student memories of my time at Cambridge. I'm also a bit of a Rock Chick but nothing too heavy.
WHICH FIVE PEOPLE LIVING OR NO LONGER WITH US WOULD YOU INVITE TO YOUR DREAM DINNER PARTY??
Oh that's a good question.
1)Albert Einstein - I would like to ask him if his work was his own or based on that of his female mentor Emmy Noether
2)Dante - I am currently reading Dan Brown's "Inferno" and find it fascinating. He was the forerunner for the Enlightenment, which although several centuries after him he heralded in a period in History like never before and had some fascinating perspectives.
3)Michael Gove - I would like a looong discussion with him. It might turn nasty.
4)The Doctor. It would have to be David Tennant though - but as the Doctor. He was so fundamentally spot on in this role. And great eye candy!
5)Michael Macintyre. He's the only one who *really* gets what leaving the house with children is like!!
WHAT ONE THING WOULD YOU TELL YOUR SIXTEEN YEAR OLD SELF
It will all turn out all right. It usually does - although perhaps not in quite the way you expected.
WHAT'S YOUR BIGGEST BLOG CHALLENGE?
Finding the time to write, and keeping all three very different Blogs going, they are all important to me!
WHAT'S YOUR FONDEST MEMORY?
Listening to my Mum playing the piano as I was drifting off to sleep as a child. Sometimes I would sneak through and listen to her. Also my Dad counting "1 elephant, 2 elephant.." etc between lightening and thunder in a thunderstorm. Precious times.
WILL YOU SHARE YOUR FAVOURITE EVER BLOG POST WITH ME PLEASE?
The most popular is my "Daughter's Week" post by far, but I have lots of favourites. On the Dorothy Whiskers site it is my recent Museum Visit post as we had such a blast there. But I really love this one too - with it's nod to Doctor Who! The Guinea Pig Who Waited.
I now nominate TwinMummy for her fab support of new Bloggers, Zena from Zena's Suitcase for her lovely Blog with some excellent content and Tami Anderson for her gorgeous photos of her two :) and here are my questions!
1)For you, what makes an interesting blog?
2) Which kitchen utensil would you be?
3) What tools do you use to manage your social media presence?
4) If you were shipwrecked on a desert island what 3 blogs would you want with you?
5) What was the first record you bought?
6) Do you ever blog in your pyjamas?
7) Are you more of a hunter or a gatherer?
8) Room, desk, or car - which do you clean first?
9) Add your own ending to the well know phrase “Keep calm and …”
10) If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?
11)What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?
Lovely to learn a bit more about you Kate. What a fab dinner party you'd have, at least Michael M could lighten the mood after you tear Michael G into tiny pieces :-)
