A special moment

I cannot tell you how much this photo means to me.

This is H, doing his homework. That in itself is a major miracle - but this is voluntarily doing his homework. At 4pm, not 9.30pm at night after an hour-long meltdown. One of those very rare and special occasions, when you just look, and smile, breathe deeply and relax because this is a GOOD moment.

Please note the absence of coercive techniques. No bribery was used in this scene.

  4. H looks a similar age to my son, who is 9. If he is anything like that, this will indeed be a proud moment worth capturing on camera!

    1. He turns 12 on Tuesday :) First year of High School and hadn't ever done homework before... (The whole school work is part of "school ASD thing going on..) so I am so thrilled that this has happened, even if it is some time before it happens again!

  7. Oh I have a son like this, I have twins, one would come in sit down and the other would kick up a storm, do anything to evade homework, or in fact lots of tasks, treasure this special moment. A good moment indeed.

  8. That's so sweet!! Homework is often a battle in this house too so I understand that joy when they decide to just do it, without the endless pleading!! Looks like really neat writing too ;)

  15. That is a good moment :) It is sometimes so hard getting them to sit down and do their homework, and when they sit, it is sometimes even harder to get them to actually concentrate and DO it. Well done.
